Today is Wednesday, July 21st, two thousand and twenty one. This is DIRTRACKR Daily. I'm Justin Fiedler.

Coming up we've got details on Brad Sweet's $25k pay day at Lernerville, another Brandon Overton win, and more from a busy dirt racing Tuesday.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series continued their month long chase for the big money at Lernerville Speedway last night. $25,000 was on the line for the winner of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. Local favorite Sye Lynch sat on the pole and was strong early on, holding third starting Brad Sweet at bay through the opening 11 laps. But eventually, Sweet was just too strong. He rolled by Lynch on lap 12 and went unchallenged the rest of the 40 laps to take the big money and his series leading 14th win of 2021. Donny Schatz, Aaron Reutzel, David Gravel, and James McFadden all grabbed top five finishes behind Sweet. The most impressive run of the night may have been from Sheldon Haudenschild. He went over the top of the track and ended up tumbling into no-mans land, but emerged from the work area and drove his way back to a top ten finish. It was a very solid result after what could have been a night ending crash. With Williams Grove coming up this weekend, Sweet's win extended his points lead over Carson Macedo back to 128. Gravel is 148 back in third. Sweet might need those extra points this weekend, as Central Pennsylvania isn't usually a strong area for the Big Cat. In his last four appearances at the Grove, his best finish is 10th. He did not finish in the top ten either night at the Grove back in May for the Morgan Cup weekend. On the flip side, both Gravel and Macedo have had success at the Grove in recent seasons. They will need to maximize their finishes this weekend if they are going to continue trying to close the gap on Sweet. We'll have more on the Outlaws later in the week.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicked off a busy week at I-80 Speedway last night with the first of two prelim programs leading into Thursday's I-80 Nationals that pays $30,000 to win. In the feature, polesitter Brandon Overton led early, battled with Hudson O'Neal past half way, with the 71 leading four laps, but Overton took back control on lap 19 and the final 12 laps en route to the $7000 score. O'Neal, Ricky Thornton Jr., Kyle Bronson, and Frank Heckenast Jr. completed the top five. It was Overton's second Lucas win of 2021 in 12 appearances. His last series win was at East Bay back on January 29th. Tim McCreadie and Jonathan Davenport both walked away with top ten finishes last night, but we didn't see any movement in the standings, because these prelim nights are non-points. Last night and tonight's programs are important though, as drivers are earning points to set up Thursday's action. We've talked about Hudson O'Neal losing ground to Kyle Bronson recently, and it's not hard to see why. The fourth place finish for Bronson last night was his fifth straight top four result, and he currently leads the series in average finish over the last five races. Bronson has made a three position gain in average finish so far in 2021 versus 2020. He's starting better, finishing better, is more efficient, and already has more top five finishes in 2021 than he did all of last season. Tonight at I-80, Lucas will do it all over again. If you can't be there, watch live on MAVTV Plus.

The 2021 Southern Nationals kept rolling along last night at I-75 Raceway in Tennessee. In the feature, Dale McDowell started third, got by early leader Cody Overton on lap 18, and drove away to his sixth career series win and $4000. Ryan King, Jensen Ford, Cory Hedgecock, and John Ownbey were the rest of the top five. Jensen Ford's third place finish moves him into the series points lead now with two races complete. He's trailed by Cody Overton and Donald McIntosh. The 12 race late model series is off tonight, but returns to action at West Georgia Speedway for another $4000 to win show. If you can't attend any of the races, FloRacing has streaming coverage. For more, visit southernnationalsseries.com.

At Selinsgrove Speedway last night in Pennsylvania, Danny Dietrich took down the $5000 victory in the track's 75th anniversary race. He topped Blane Heimbach, Freddie Rahmer, TJ Stutts, and Steve Buckwalter. Jeff Rine won the night's super late model feature. It's been a solid week for Dietrich, who was coming off two A main appearances at the Kings Royal, finishing 2nd in the daytime show, and 10th in the nightcap. Last night's win put him over $30,000 in winnings for the Eldora and Selinsgrove appearances. Up next for the Posse looms the Summer Nationals showdown against the Outlaws at Williams Grove.

Last night's Super DIRTcar Series race at Canandaigua was postponed mid program because of rain. All they have left to complete is the two last chance showdowns and the feature. The event will be made up in conjunction with a future stop at Land of Legends Raceway. Peter Britten, Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, and Erick Rudolph were heat race winners, while Tim Fuller will start on the pole of the feature. Up next for the Super DIRTcar Series is July 25th at Weedsport Speedway for the $10,000 to win Hall of Fame 100. You can watch that live on DIRTVision with your fast pass.

And speaking of DV, in an announcement yesterday, DIRTVision and Millbridge Speedway revealed that racing from the North Carolina track is being added to the offerings available to DIRTVision subscribers. The weekly Tuesday and Wednesday micro and karting shows will be available as part of the fast pass, as will the track's big events like the Carolina Midget Showdown and Carolina Micro Showdown. DIRTVision will also be a presenting sponsor of those big events. Millbridge has become a staple of the weekly Charlotte area racing scene, and guys like Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Nick Hoffman, and Chase Briscoe have made appearances there. Millbridge had been streaming some events with Speed51 in recent years, but this puts all of their racing on DIRTVision. Millbridge joins tracks like Knoxville, Williams Grove, Attica, and Jacksonville as having streaming deals with DIRTVision. The first shows available to watch will be next week, July 27th and 28th.
